On August 14, 2023, the first commercial vehicles of the LADA Largus family will start rolling off the AUTOVAZ assembly line. The company is restarting production of this car a month ahead of schedule.
In total, 650 LADA Largus cars of various modifications are planned to be produced in August 2023. This number will also include car kits for an experimental batch of LADA e-Largus electric vehicles, which will be assembled in Izhevsk by the end of this year.
It is also planned to produce several bodies in Togliatti, which will be further used in Izhevsk for setting up technological equipment. Recall that AUTOVAZ has decided to transfer the production of the entire LADA Largus family to the production site in Izhevsk. The transfer project is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.
The transfer of LADA Largus production is connected with plans to load Line No. 1 in Togliatti, where in the short term it is planned to significantly increase the production of Vesta family cars, as well as to put on the conveyor the LADA Aura executive sedan and a new crossover on the Vesta platform. Thus, Line No. 1 will specialize in the production of co-platform cars.
The break in the release of Largus will also allow Russian suppliers to master an additional range of components to increase technological sovereignty for this model.
